Meet the Carrollton Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door
We’re a small outfit, and we like it that way. The people who show up at your door in Carrollton are the same people you’ll see at the gas station on Josey Lane or grabbing breakfast tacos off Belt Line. Otto has built this crew one person at a time since 2004, and every one of them has been background-checked, uniformed, and trained across all eight major brands we service: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor. No subcontracted strangers. No rotating cast. Just neighbors fixing doors for neighbors.
Our People
Otto Reinhardt, Owner
Otto founded Otto’s Garage Door in 2004 and has answered the phone himself ever since. He’s the one who quotes your job on the call and holds that number when he gets there, whether it’s noon or nine at night. Otto has spent more than two decades working on every major brand of door and opener in North Texas, and he’ll tell you a door is 200 pounds riding on two springs: respect it. He’s the name on the van, the invoice, and the license. Off the clock, you might find him at a Creekview High football game or arguing about barbecue with someone who’s wrong about it.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Otto for eleven years, and he’s seen just about every way a garage door can fail in the Texas heat. He handles the heavy spring and cable work, the kind of job where knowing exactly how much tension is on that rod keeps everyone safe. Marcus is certified on LiftMaster and Chamberlain opener systems and has done advanced training through Clopay and Amarr. He grew up in Carrollton and still lives off Hebron Parkway, which means his commute is shorter than your wait for a service call. Marcus keeps a coffee thermos in the truck that hasn’t been washed since 2019, and no one is allowed to touch it.
Dana R., Senior Installer
Dana joined the crew in 2016 after years of custom carpentry, and she brought an eye for fit and finish that shows on every new door installation we complete. She’s the one who makes sure the panels line up dead level, the tracks sit clean, and the door glides quiet. Dana knows the Carrollton housing stock inside and out: she can tell you whether a 1980s home in Woodlake or a 2000s build in Castle Hills has the header clearance for a particular Clopay or Wayne Dalton model. She’s also the fastest on the crew at lacing a torsion spring safely. If Dana says a door’s done right, it’s done right. She keeps a running list of every dog she’s met on the job, alphabetized by breed.
Luis C., Service Coordinator
Luis is the voice you’ll often hear when you call (945) 445-8489. He’s been answering the phone for Otto’s since 2018, and he knows the schedule, the parts inventory, and which tech is closest to your street at any given moment. Luis is the reason we can offer a live person 24/7 and why a call at eleven at night gets the same attention as one on a Tuesday morning. He quotes jobs over the phone using the same pricing Otto uses, so the number you hear is the number you pay. Luis grew up in Farmers Branch and moved to Carrollton six years ago; he’s the only person in the shop who knows how to fix the office printer, a skill that has nothing to do with garage doors and everything to do with keeping us running.
Ethan P., Apprentice Technician
Ethan is the newest member of the team, apprenticing under Marcus since early 2024. He’s in the truck on service calls, handing tools, watching torque settings, and learning the spring cycle math Otto teaches every tech. You’ll hear him count cycles the way you count tire miles: Ethan can already tell you what’s left on a spring before he reaches for the winding bar. He’s what we mean when we say our people are trained and background-checked before they ever knock on a door alone. Ethan’s from Carrollton originally, graduated from Newman Smith High, and is currently restoring an old C10 in his driveway.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this page works under the same rule: if it’s not done right, it gets made right. That’s the 90-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s written on every invoice, not whispered as a sales line. Marcus, Dana, Luis, Ethan, and Otto all carry the same name on their backs, and they all quote the same upfront price that doesn’t change between the phone and the driveway. No trip charge inside the county. A free second opinion on any written estimate. And a permanent 10% discount for seniors and veterans, because the community comes before the margin. One company, one standard, and one owner you can reach with a single call to (945) 445-8489.
